This blog is all about poultry farming specially focusing on Chicken Farming. We will discuss different schemes of chicken farming, different types of farm, problems and diseases related to chicken and on farm management.
First have a look on different types of farms,
1) Open Shed.
2) Semi Control Shed.
3) Environment Control  Shed.
These types of sheds are used for farming of chicken on commercial basis. We will briefly discuss three types as below.

Open Shed.
These are basic and old types of shed we can also name them Starter Shed. We can see them usually in villages. These types of sheds are usually recommended for those persons who are will to choose chicken farming as business, because they cost very low(construction), easily available on rent, farming on low level normally 3000 chicks. The recommended dimensions for open shed are 100*30(100 feet length and 30 feet width). The space required for chickens in Open shed is 1foot/Chick.

I will write more on Open Shed( management, diseases, etc) soon.............................

Semi Control Shed.
These types of sheds are much better then open shed on performance basis, because they are equipped with cooling and heating systems and also feeding and watering lines for chicken. In this way the chances of diseases are reduced very much. These types of sheds are cheaper then Environmental control  shed, the difference between fully controlled and semi control is of dimensions because in semi control you can make some changes in Dimensions. Recommended dimensions for Semi Control Shed is 200f*40f(200 feet length and 40 feet width) The space required in Semi Control shed is 0.75feet/chick.

More information about semi Control Shed will be available soon.

Environment Control Shed.

These are latest types of sheds, fully environment controlled and equipped with latest equipment for cooling, heating, feeding and watering. In this shed everything is control is by control panel in which you put the data manually i.e. temperature requirement, ventilation control of watering and feeding systems and then it works accordingly. Theses shed are costly but management is easy, risk factor is low and absolutely earning is HIGH. Recommended farming in control shed is for 30000 birds and space required in control shed is 0.65feet/bird.
